Python Online for Beginners
Open the Page and Start Coding

Lite is the simple view of the Pyroom Playground: one editor, a console and a Run button. New visitors start here.

Your first Python program, ready to run

The code and its result, side by side. Change the name, run it again and see what happens.

name = "Sam"
age = 12
print("Hello,", name)
print("Next year:", age + 1)
Output
Hello, Sam
Next year: 13
Simple Screen

One Editor, One Console, One Run Button

Lite shows a single editor and a console for the result. There are no file tabs and no file tree, so a beginner sees only the code they are writing.

  • Your first visit opens with a one-line program to run
  • Run with the Run button, or F5 on a keyboard
  • On a phone, switch between Editor and Output
Run (F5)

Editorprint("Hello from Pyroom!")

ConsoleHello from Pyroom!

A Simple Screen With Nothing Cut From Python

Lite changes what you see, not what Python can do. The tools in the menu are the same as in Pro.

  • Use input(), Turtle and Tkinter
  • Open ready-made programs from Examples
  • Ask the AI Assistant (experimental) to explain an error
  • Your code stays in this browser between visits

Lite mode questions

What is Lite mode?

Lite is the simple view of the Pyroom Playground: one editor, a console and a Run button. It is the view new visitors start in.

Do I need to install anything or sign up?

No. Open the Playground in a browser and start coding. A short tour can show you around on your first visit.

How is Lite different from Pro?

Python runs the same in both. Pro adds file tabs, a file explorer and projects with more than one file, and it is experimental.

Can young beginners use Turtle and Tkinter in Lite?

Yes. Turtle drawings and Tkinter windows run in Lite, and you can find programs for both in Examples.

How do I switch to Pro and back?

Click the Lite or Pro badge at the top of the Playground, or use the menu. Your browser remembers the choice.

Will I lose my files if I go back to Lite?

No. Lite hides the file tabs and shows the open file. Your other files are still there when you return to Pro.

Is my code saved?

Yes. It is stored in your browser, so it is there when you come back on the same device.
